Just keep swimming, Just keep swimming...

Spring Break is next week and summer is JUST around the corner and that means.... it's swimsuit time!! I love going to the beach and the pool. Sometimes I go to swim, other times I go to tan, but no matter what I go to the pool for I'm going to need the ultimate swimsuit. Well, maybe two or three ;)

Here are some trendy swimsuits I have picked out for Summer 2012

I'm a huge Victoria's Secret  fan and according to their trend watch, this summer is all about the bright colors.

2 piece swimsuits are the most common, but why not try something different this summer?

And of course, I couldn't leave out the animal print swimsuit =D

I definitely cannot wait for Summer to get here. Swimsuits here I come!!

Le Studio Garrido

Ever since the semester started, I have been working on projects non-stop. It can be stressful sometimes, but most of the time it's pure fun =) Let me show you what goes on in le studio Garrido...

When I am not working at Scoular Hall, I work at the second biggest lab...
Just kidding, I'd actually say it's the smallest working space I've ever seen. But I make it work!

Most of the time I'm very organized, but then there's those moments where I say, "eh" I know I was looking for something important for one of my projects. I have so much fabric my closet should be named Super Textiles II

So here I am, hard at work... as you can see

This is my Go Red dress. I was very proud of it :)

My most recent project is my competition garment. I decided to make a jumpsuit.

My five thousand pattern pieces

I call it "Follow The Pink Brick Road"

I am very proud to say that I have completed my jumpsuit two days before it's due :) [Even though the hem is not done in this picture, I assure you, it is complete]

I couldn't have done any of this without my baby. My singer <3

I hope you've enjoyed this small tour of Le Studio Garrido =D

StoryBoards 2012

This week's assignment was really fun for me. I love creating storyboards and here I have posted two of my favorite trends. They're both very different but both represent two different sides of my personality.

I am a huge animal print fanatic and this trend is so sophisticated. It has a much more toned down color palette and an elegant touch to it.

I love bright colors, and there's nothing brighter than neons! I love this trend because it's so fun and energetic. It's loud, BRIGHT, and vibrant.

So, here's your task: Which storyboard relates more to your personality? Which do you like more? Leave a comment :)

MINIS AND TIGHTS GALORE!

What are the UNT students into these days... fashion-wise?? Keep reading and I'll show you one cute and stylish trend that's taking over the UNT campus.
MINIS&TIGHTS
I, personally, am very into mini dresses and skirts, and during the winter I like to style it up with a pair of tights and boots. Here are some chic styles I captured around UNT.

*Coats and cardigans play a big role in these outfits*

Cute belted mini dress with black trench coat and black leather boots.

Culottes and tights...I like =) I also like how the color of the scarf makes this whole outfit come together.

I am loving the suede ankle boots. I like how she paired these tan boots with an all black outfit.

Knee socks! Such a classy look. I also like the "longer coat than the mini" look.

I <3 fishnets! The color combination makes it a unique style . Nice pirate boots =)

I am obsessed with animal print and this look made my day! Classy black shorts with rockin' zebra print booties. The hot pink blazer completes this stylish look.

No tights, but this modern western look is so cute. You don't see a lot of denim jackets anymore, especially cropped ones, but this one makes the outfit very cowgirl-ish. All she needs is the cowboy hat =D

No tights and no mini dress, but this look caught my eye. I like how she combined this boho-chic outfit with combat boots. Gives it a very edgy look :)

In honor of the Mini&Tights collection, here is one my favorite minis. =)

What Inspires Me...

Everything around me inspires me. Family, friends, movies, television, the color pink, etc etc. Fashion is my passion, it has always been, and step by step I am working very hard to make my DREAM a reality. Of course, I look up to and admire many BIG designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier and Valentino, but the ones who inspire me the most are designers who have started right where I am right now. Shirin Askari and Khanh Nguyen are both UNT alumni and are making it BIG today. One more person that inspires me a lot is my mom. Since the beginning, she has supported me 100%. I have heard many people say, don't let Hollywood fool you, life is not like the movies. Well, they may be right, but I still believe and will continue to believe that I someday will have everything those stars have. That leads me to another inspiration of mine, the Red Carpet. Whether its the Oscars, or the Golden Globe Awards, or whatever! I absolutely love watching the Red Carpet. All of the elegance, glamour, the sparkle and high fashioned gowns, it inspires me in many ways. Red Carpet gowns is what I'd like to specialize in and seeing all of those amazing dresses just lights me up! I mean, that is what passion is all about, right?
